we entered the reception to matt & kims daylight song. down the stairs. it was so fun. and i even knocked over a vase with a little flower on it that was lining the stairs. it was quite funny. keep in mind i am a little dramatic.
we ate. yes we ate. a lot of people told me not to get my hopes up about eating at my reception. but we picked that food and we were determined to break the mold. and we ate with our guests and loved ones surrounding us. our wedding menu? absolutely to die for. it was "heavy hors d'oeuvres"- which doesnt give it justice. here it is for ya- oh how i miss that food...
our menus matched our programs- both of which i designed:
meats:
chicken marsala
beef shoulder tenders
seafood:
crabpuffs
blackened tuna bites (with corn salsa)
grilled shrimp
veggies:
hot artichoke dip (with pita points)
grilled & chilled assorted veggies
miscellaneous:
sweet potato biscuits & ham
pasta in creamy basil sauce
assorted fruit & cheese
the bar was hoppin' too...
after we ate, josh & i mingled... and talked to wonderful people (like the Hildebrands pictured below) everyone was so excited to talk with us and we were excited to talk with everyone too. such a sweet time with smiles, laughter, and advice.
dance. now its time to dance. we started with the first dance. so sweet and such an intimate time. i loved dancing with that boy. it was joyful. one of my dear friends told me she had never seen a more beautiful first dance because you could see the love in our eyes and our smiles. thanks for that friend- ill never forget this sweet time dancing to one of our favorite songs hung the moon by drew & ellie holcomb (i lovelovelove them if you didnt know...)
then the daddy daughter dance... somewhere over the rainbow of course because my dad loves this movie- it was a surprise for him...
then of course some the mother-son dance which was sweet for Mrs. Cindy i know- the song started out not like we expected, but it was still sweet.
then the bet men and the maid of honor gave some sweet speeches, filled with fake nicknames, funny stories, sweet words, & 4th grade boyfriends. and then the dancing commenced for our guests. the electric slide, the virginia reel, forever, and im so sad to say i missed the dynamite dance. what were they thinking starting the song without me? i am trying to get over that... it was still so fun. enjoy these pictures. there are so many. its hard to choose.
the virginia reel- a young life camp favorite. thanks mez & ryder for doing that.
